Contents Page Mood board
Unlike my Front cover mood board idea where I looked at specifically one magazine, Billboard, instead I looked at a variety of magazines and different genres. I done this because I feel that although the theme used in the contents page is linked to the genre and target audience, I think the layout of magazine can be used in a variety of different genres. Furthermore, looking at the variety of contents pages gives me a range of ideas that I can pull together to fit my target audience, research and theme I want to use to match my genre.
In all these contents pages included on my mood board I have looked at ideas and taken aspects from them, for example, in the VIBE contents page I like the idea of having the word CONTENT separated out, this gives me an idea to use in my magazine. This is because I think it would suit my theme of reaching out to a older audience from 16-21 rather than most POP magazines aiming at a younger audience, under 15.
In most of the contents pages shown they use one main image with little images around it, I specifically like this as it shows a range of artist used, as well as I think it would be good to use in my magazine as it fits with the criteria and research I have undertaken. Using a variety of people in my contents page shows a range of images which I am trying to achieve to reach my audience and the conventions of a magazine. Furthermore, I especially like the way they use numbers next to the image as a way of presenting the page listings next to the image. Not only does this show the reader what the page includes when showing the image, but it is a way of attracting the audience specifically to the artists they like, as well as presenting the contents in a different way.
